Hi, I'm Shae!

Hey! I’m Shae. The face, heart and creative eye behind Captured By Shae.

I’m an Adelaide-based photographer, a mum, a lover of the little moments, and someone who genuinely gets excited every time I get to tell another person’s story through my camera.

Before photography became such a huge part of my life, I spent six years working in Early Learning, which means I’ve had a LOT of experience with tiny humans and all the wonderful chaos that comes with them. 😂

So if you’re worried that your toddler won’t sit still, your kids won’t look at the camera, your baby might need a feed halfway through, or someone is inevitably going to have a meltdown.. please don’t stress.

I promise, I get it.

As a mum myself, some of my favourite photographs aren’t the perfectly posed ones. They’re the belly laughs. The little hands wrapped around yours. The windswept hair. The toddler running in completely the wrong direction. The quiet cuddles. The way your partner looks at you when you’re not paying attention.

The real stuff.

That’s what I want to capture for you.

What it's like having me behind the camera

I know being in front of a camera can feel AWKWARD. Trust me, you don't need to arrive knowing what to do with your hands or how to pose. 😂

I’ll guide you when you need it, hype you up when you need it, make a fool of myself to get the kids laughing, and give you space for those beautiful little moments to happen naturally.

My sessions are relaxed, fun and completely judgement-free.

I photograph families, maternity, newborns, couples, engagements, weddings, portraits and events, but regardless of what brings you to me, my goal is always the same:

I want you to look back at your photos and remember how that chapter of your life felt, not just what it looked like.

Because babies grow. Kids change. Families evolve. Bellies become babies. Couples become families. And somehow all of those ordinary little moments become the ones we wish we could go back and experience just one more time.

That's why I love what I do.
